Arkus & Romet Group started its operations in 1991. Dynamic growth during the first years made it possible to start bicycle manufacturing in 1996, and enabled conquering a significant part of Polish bicycle market. Today, Arkus Group is on of the biggest bicycle manufacturers in Poland and renowned industry partner throughout the world.
Arkus & Romet Group development consisted of joining number of manufacturing plants into one Production Group resulted in a new identity, in which the tradition of Polish, Romet manufacturing plant are joined with state-of-the-art design and technology.
In 1999, ARKUS s.c. purchased the "Romet-Jastrowie" manufacturing plant from Romet S.A. Bydgoszcz, the leader and monopolist in Polish bicycle production - a continuator of long standing R-3 plant tradition of manufacturing children and teenager bicycles. Arkus took over the plant with its staff. A year later a new addition was made to Jastrowie plant: Kowalewie Wielkopolskim. The Romet plants were bought together with well-known trade marks "Jubilat" and "Wigry" and the right to use "ROMET" make.
In 2000 the Group of combined plants made a big entry on the European bicycle market. The plants were modernized and the production was specialised. Using the advantage of already established European export contracts by Romet-Jastrowie, the Group strengthened its position as an exporter. A the turn of 2000 and 2001 the 3 plants were joined by the Nowowolynsk plant in Ukraine. This investment enabled a big expansion opportunity to Eastern European markets.
In June 2005 the 3 plants: ARKUS Podgrodzie near Dębica, Romet-Jastrowie and Romet-Kowalewo Wielkopolskie were joined into one joint stock company by the name of ARKUS & ROMET Group. The decision improved selling and organizational competitiveness on both domestic and foreign market. The history of Arkus & Romet Group is a series of achievements aimed at establishing company success. Our state-of-the-art fleet of machines, top-class, fully automatic powder paint shop, advanced stock and product logistics centers, including Bicycle tire and tubes center and own transportation. The profile of the production organization, retail network and service is aimed at EU standards.
Having earned success in the bicycle manufacturing field, we set out in 2007 to expand our enterprise with automotive segment — starting the assembly of scooters using our own Romet make. Our experience, human potential and already implemented technologies allow to seamlessly move to a new chapter in the Arkus & Romet Group history.
